Contrary to what most people think, it is not necessary to have the most expensive tools to capture a very spectacular photograph. Even if you have the latest kit, if you do not have the skills and the knowledge, it will still be useless. To be able to capture a special one, you will need an eye that can see through the subject. This means that to become the best, you will need to have a very teachable character, patience, hard work, and of course, experience.
10x20 - This is by far the most versatile backdrop size. It can be used for families, couples, weddings, bridals, commercial, and everything you would use the smaller sizes for. There may be times when you are photographing larger groups, 8 and above, when two 10'x20's of the same or similar pattern may come in handy (Hang one horizontally and lay the other on the floor so the seam is unseen).
With most types of photography you need to isolate your subject to get a great image. This can be done with a small f/number - f/4 or less. Another way to isolate your subject is to pick a contrasting background that will bring out the rich colours of your subject.
Do not just stuff keywords on your site with no rhyme, purpose or reason. Also, do website not do this in a color that will be hidden on your site. This is frowned upon with the major search engines, and you could risk being penalized for doing it.
